Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara supports the North Sumatra Reading Movement, launched by the Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi.
The Rector of UMSU, represented by the Head of the UMSU Library, Muhammad Arifin, said UMSU strongly supports the North Sumatra Reading Movement.
The academic community, lecturers, students, and education personnel, such as security guards, doctors, nurses, and administrative staff, read books for 15 minutes starting at 09.00-9.15 WIB.
In addition, all UMSU Library employees and Library Volunteers also participated in the event via zoom. It can be seen in the monitoring that at 09.00-09.15 WIB, the entire academic community reads, some reading in their posts, pavilions, waiting rooms, clinics, libraries, and workplaces.
Head of UMSU Library Volunteer Muhammad Al Amin supports the North Sumatra Reading Movement because it is very positive and supports the love of literacy and books.
