The Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara has become the largest private university in Indonesia to receive a Student Creativity Week (PKM) grant funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology.
“In the 2022 Student Creativity Week (PKM) funding, UMSU is ranked 1st in universities with the most PKM Proposal Funding at the PTS level in Indonesia, PTM in Indonesia, PTS throughout LLDIKTI Region 1 and Rank 12 at the PTN-PTS level. All over Indonesia,” said the Chancellor during the Eid celebration, the big family of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra and the UMSU academic community, at the UMSU Auditorium on Jalan Captain Muchtar Basri No. 3, Medan, Saturday (28/5)
Also present was the Chairman of the Central Executive Board (PP) of Muhammadiyah, Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Khamad, M.Si, Founder of the Asia Muslim Charity Foundation (AMCF) from Dubai. Sheikh Mohammad MT Al-Khoory, North Sumatra Muhammadiyah Regional Leader (PWM), Prof. Dr. Hasyimsyah Nasution MA, Leaders of the Assembly, Institutions and Ortoms, and the UMSU academic community.
It was emphasized that the achievements achieved by UMSU are in line with the physical appearance, the material content of our students, Alhamdulillah, our students have competitiveness with universities in Indonesia, “said Prof Agussani.
UMSU has also become one of PP Muhammadiyah and AMCF to carry out da’wah in the education field, which started cooperation in 2015. The collaboration is in the form of integrating Ma’had Abu Ubaidah with FAI UMSU.
In addition, UMSU also reported achievements in the form of ranking from the QS rating by getting four stars.
“Please pray for all of us, this is an honor and achievement, we have to talk nationally and internationally. Our goal is to enter and be perched in the international world,” said Prof Agussani.
Chairman of the Central Executive (PP) Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. H. Dadang Khamad, M.Si. provide tausiyah related to the nature of patience, honesty and trust.
“Patience is a part of life, including the inhabitants of Paradise, being patient and honest. Therefore, Muhammadiyah people on average are honest,” he said.
Prof. Dadang said that UMSU would not be as great as it is now, if honest people did not lead it. Then regarding honesty, he said that lying is an extraordinary danger in Islam.
Responding to this achievement, the Chairperson of the North Sumatra PWM, Prof. Dr. Hasyimsyah Nasution MA, hopes that UMSU can jointly assist Muhammadiyah secondary schools.
“Hopefully, UMSU will continue to advance from A to Superior. High school schools can also be more advanced in the future, “said Prof. Hasyimsyah.
