UMSU Releases 300 Independent Entrepreneurial Students Batch II Internships at Partner SMEs
The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, represented by Vice Rector I, Prof. Muhammad Arifin Gultom, M.Hum released 300 students participating in the Batch II Independent Entrepreneurship (WMK) program in 2023 for internships at partner SMEs. The release was held on Monday (18/9) at the UMSU Court on Muchtar Basri Street No. Medan.
In the Batch II Independent Entrepreneurship (WMK) program, three stages must be carried out: pre-immersion, immersion, and post-immersion. Based on a report from the Head of the WMK Program and the Chairperson of PUSKIIBI, Assoc. Prof. Dewi Andriany, S.E., M.M., after attending pre-immersion for one and a half months, participants will then carry out an internship or immersion stage.
“Mr. Vice Rector, we report as many as 300 WMK participants, namely 180 people from UMSU and 120 people from private universities from various regions,” said the head of the WMK program. He also hopes that this activity, supported by the university leadership, can run smoothly until December 2023.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector I, Prof. Arifin, who released the WMK internship activity, advised participants to conduct their internships as well as possible and apply a disciplined attitude during their internships at partner SMEs.
“The Ministry has scheduled this activity, which is already at the Immersion stage (plunging into the field). This activity determines the success of the internship later,” said Prof. Arifin.
He also conveyed the characteristics of entrepreneurs, namely having creativity and innovation, being able to face risks, patience, optimism, and sincerity in entrepreneurship.
The release ended with a symbolic pinning and handing over the decree to representatives of participants and DPL lecturers.
Also present were all Vice Deans III UMSU, Field Supervisors (DPL), and WMK participants.
