Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara agreed to cooperate with two cybernetics technology institutes (colleges) in Malaysia.
The agreement to cooperate was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement text between the Rector of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, with two cybernetics campus leaders in Kuala Lumpur Friday (2/12). The handover of the collaboration manuscript was also attended by Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Religion, Dr. Zailani, SPdI, MA, Secretary of the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (OIC) UMSU Mhd. “UMSU and Cybernetics International College of Technology and Cybernetics International College agreed to establish an MoU to improve the quality of education, research, and community service,” said UMSU Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, to reporters.
It was explained that the signing of the MoU text between UMSU and two information technology campuses in Malaysia was part of an effort to expand the network of collaborative partners to improve the quality of education. Furthermore, expanding cooperation partners with campuses, especially in the ASEAN sphere, is one of the efforts to realize the vision of campus internationalization.
“UMSU continues to strive to expand international cooperation networks, especially with campuses in ASEAN countries because they have many similarities so that it can more easily apply the agreed points of cooperation,” he said.
UMSU is one of the Indonesian campuses whose alumni have received recognition and diploma equality because they have been recognized by MQA, also known as Malaysia’s accreditation body. This means that UMSU alumni can be recognized for their diplomas on par with university graduates in Malaysia.
On that occasion, the Rector hoped that the signing of the MoU for UMSU and the two cybernetics technology campuses could be followed up with the realization of activities at the university, faculty, and study program levels.
