UMSU is again a representative of North Sumatra who participated in the Malay Day Festival event in Yala Thailand, held on Friday-Saturday (23-24/2).
Every year, UMSU gets the opportunity to be involved in this event. Get an educational exhibition stand to introduce UMSU to festival visitors from various countries.
Rafieqah Nalar Rizky, M.A., Director of the Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (OIC) UMSU, said public interest in participating in the Malay Day Festival is still high. According to him, this event is beneficial for exchanging cultures in Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia and also strengthening the Malay culture in the three countries.
He said that the Mayor of Yala, Mr. Pongsak Yingchoncharoen, the Minister of Justice of Thailand, Tawee Sodsong, and Agus Cahyono Rasyid, who served as the Economic Function and Head of Chancery of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Songkla visited the UMSU stand.
“UMSU received a positive response from visitors because there was a lot of curiosity from the community to study at UMSU, especially after it was explained that UMSU has a scholarship program for foreign students; many foreign students were participating in this program who came from several countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Yemen,” said Rafiqah.The festival featured various cultural performances such as fashion shows and dances and exhibitions of food products and clothing. It also attended the education exhibition that Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand attended as the host.
